Welcome to
Pennine Way Primary School

Welcome from the Head Teacher

Pennine Way is an exciting place to be. We are lucky to have amazing facilities and are located in the wonderful Harraby Community Campus. We benefit from the use of the British Cycling race standard cycle track; 3-G pitches and sports arena; a theatre and much more. We are always keen to share our school and visits are most welcome.   Click here and you can find out more.

  • 🧒👕 Reminder from Pennine Way Primary School 👖🎒 Accidents can happen — even on the best of days! 😊 Please make sure your child has a spare set of pants/knickers, socks, and clothes in their school bag. This helps us keep your child comfortable and happy throughout the day. If your child has borrowed any spare clothes from school, please wash and return them as soon as possible — we really appreciate your help in keeping our supplies topped up! 💙 Thank you for your support and cooperation, — PWPS Early Years Team 📅 It’s always a good idea to check and replace spares regularly!

  • This is guaranteed to make you smile!

Enjoy a heartwarming moment as Mr. Mason and one of our pupils sing “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” It’s a lovely reminder of the joy and connection in our school community.

  • You're Always Welcome – Thank You for Coming!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our first coffee afternoon! It was wonderful to see you, have a chat, and hear your thoughts. We really enjoyed spending time together and learning from each other. We’re listening carefully to everything that was shared and will do our best to follow up. Please remember, we’re here to support your children in every way we can — and we know there’s always room to grow and improve.

We’d love to see you at our next coffee morning on Tuesday 12th November, from 9:00am to 10:00am, in the room at the front of the Community Centre. Everyone is welcome — come along for a cuppa and a friendly chat!

  • Exciting Playground Update!

We’re thrilled to share that some major improvements are coming to the playground over the half-term break! Take a look at the plans and pictures to see the fantastic new equipment that’s on the way. A big thank you to our School Council for helping choose the equipment, and to Carrie Carr in the office for her incredible work in making this happen.

  • Supporting Positive Behaviour at School:

Our Repair Strategy At our Pennine Way, we follow a relational approach to behaviour.

One key part of this is the Repair Strategy which is based on well established psychological theories of human development and reinforced by up-to-date research evidence—a way to help children learn from mistakes and rebuild trust after things go wrong.

    Here’s how it works:

Behaviour is a form of communication

We understand that when children act out, it’s often because they’re struggling. Our goal is to support them, not just correct them.

    Restorative conversations

Instead of punishment, staff have calm, respectful chats with children to:

    -Understand what happened

-Talk about how others were affected

    -Help the child take responsibility

-Agree on how to make things right

    Relationships matter

Even when behaviour slips, we keep the relationship strong. Children know they’re still valued and supported.

    Consistency and kindness

We use clear routines and language so children know what’s expected—and what happens if things go wrong.

    Repair, not punish

Children are guided to make amends, reflect, and move forward positively.

This approach helps children develop empathy, responsibility, and resilience—skills that will serve them well in school and beyond.

If you’d like to know more or talk about how we support behaviour, feel free to get in touch.

  • We love seeing so many children in our Breakfast Club.
