Welcome to Pennine Way Primary School

Year 3

Welcome to Year 3

The teachers and support staff are really looking forward to the year ahead. Our year 3 teachers are: Mr. Mason, Miss Mallinson, Mrs. Viney. Our support staff are: Mrs. Gray, Mrs Blair, Mrs. Glencross, Mrs. Humphreys, Miss McGough, Mrs Worth.

We have many exciting events ahead including a trip to Carlisle Castle and another to Whitehaven to go to the Rum Story. In Spring, we will be visiting South Lakes Zoo to learn about tropical rainforests and the animals that live there.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday; please make sure your child comes to school in their school uniform but has a PE kit available to change into.

Your child will also need a recorder for our music lessons. If your child was in our school in year 2, they should still have one at home from last year. If needed, cheap recorders can be purchased online.

It is essential that you read with your child every evening and sign the reading record. Please also ensure that your child comes to school with their reading book and record each day. We will be changing books each Monday and Thursday, and quizzing via Accelerated Reader throughout the week.

We have already had a great start to the year and appreciate your support.

Many thanks,

The Year 3 Team
