The Governing Body plays an important role in the strategic leadership of Pennine Way Primary School. Governors work closely with school leaders to ensure that every child receives the best possible education in a safe, nurturing and ambitious environment. They provide support and challenge, helping the school to continually improve and achieve the highest standards for all pupils.

Our governors come from a range of backgrounds and bring a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience to their role. They are committed volunteers who share a common goal of ensuring that every child at Pennine Way Primary School is able to thrive, achieve and reach their full potential.

What Governors Do

The Governing Body has three key responsibilities:

• Setting the school's vision, values and strategic direction.
• Holding school leaders to account for educational performance and pupil outcomes.
• Overseeing the school's finances to ensure money is spent effectively and provides the best value for pupils.

Governors regularly visit the school, attend meetings, review policies and monitor progress towards school priorities. Through this work, they help ensure that Pennine Way Primary School continues to provide a high-quality education and a positive learning environment for all children.
