Pennine Way Primary School

Music

At Pennine Way Primary School, we believe that music is a powerful way for children to express themselves, build confidence and develop creativity. Our music curriculum is delivered through Charanga, providing pupils with a progressive and engaging programme that develops musical knowledge, skills and appreciation from Early Years through to Year 6. Children have opportunities to listen, perform, compose and evaluate music from a wide range of genres and cultures, helping them to develop a lifelong love of music.

We enrich our music provision through a range of exciting opportunities beyond the classroom. Pupils can take part in Rocksteady Music School sessions, where they experience performing as part of a band and develop their instrumental and performance skills. We are also proud to participate in Young Voices each year, giving children the chance to perform alongside thousands of other young singers in a truly memorable arena concert. Through these experiences, we aim to inspire every child to enjoy music, develop their talents and build confidence both on and off the stage.
